Center of Excellence for Couples Counseling
The Center of Excellence for Couples Counseling was established within the practice in November of 2022 and has been led since that time by Licensed Professional Counselor Faith D. Gordon-Mazur, MA, LPC, NCC who has over 20 years of clinical experience working with adolescents, adults, couples, and families. Faith has dedicated the last sixteen years to clinical work and leadership for Equilibria Psychological and Consultation Services.
Our Center of Excellence specializes in the assessment and treatment of all couples issues including working to assist in the enhancement of communication skills, improving ability to resolve conflicts, along with addressing unique/individual areas of concern, such as fidelity, trust, expanding family, parenting roles, finding balance in the day-to-day, anger management, establishing healthy Family of Origin boundaries. Currently our team is made up of six licensed practitioners who have a broad range of experiences and areas of specialization that allow for meeting each couple where they are and ultimately helping them to strengthen their system in order to more confidently and cohesively face challenges and feel empowered to make the best and most informed decisions for their future.

I joined Equilibria with a desire to work collaboratively with individuals, couples, and families in an effort to embrace change, process life events, and further personal growth and development. The therapeutic relationship provides an opportunity to learn more fully about one’s self and the dynamics that exist within our interpersonal connections; it is a privilege for me to be able to embark on that journey and help impact an individual’s ability to experience transformation and to gain increased satisfaction in life.
My areas of specialization include: depression, anxiety, anger management, trauma, healthy sexual development, relationship discord, conflict resolution, loss and grief, nutrition and exercise, and effective communication styles.
My counseling style is eclectic as I acknowledge the unique characteristics that are present within the many approaches to therapy. This allows for the use of the most appropriate tools as the therapeutic relationship evolves. Many of the hours I have spent in professional development have been focused on systems-oriented training, cognitive behavioral treatment approaches, family systems models, and analyzing verbal interactions.

I tend to view psychotherapy as relatively similar to physical therapy. You may come in with a few minor aches and pains or maybe you’ve come in with a major injury and are unable to function. My role is to not just ease your pain, but work with you to gradually get back on your feet and on your way to becoming your best self.
Therapy can be a big step to not only healing pains in your past, but to obtain insight into yourself and how you interact with others. I hope to help you achieve that insight through a collaborative therapeutic relationship. You are the expert in your own experience! I tend to use what’s called Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), as well as various parts of other modalities such as ACT (Acceptance and Behavior Therapy) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
I have worked with various types of people, ranging from ages 18 to 70+. I also pride myself on serving minority populations, including BIPOC individuals experiencing difficulties with racial trauma over the past few years. Additionally, I have previous involvement in specialized care for people who have endured complex trauma, our brave veterans who have served the country, as well as emerging adults in a college setting (individuals ages 18-29).

I view therapy as a collaborative process grounded in trust, curiosity, and meaningful growth. Together, we identify practical tools that support lasting change while honoring your unique experiences and pace. My intention is to offer steady support and a space that is grounded, safe, and genuinely affirming for you to navigate life’s challenges with clarity and confidence.
My style is both direct and empathic. I believe honesty and compassion can coexist, creating a therapeutic space where you feel empowered, confident, and secure enough to explore vulnerability. I am dedicated to supporting clients in self-exploration and personal growth, and I recognize this process looks different for everyone, Therapy is not one size fits all–and your path deserves to be approached with intention, flexibility, and respect.
I provide individual therapy via telehealth for adults. My approach to therapy is integrative and grounded in cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), meaning we’ll look at your thoughts and patterns while also getting curious about the deeper “why” behind them. My clinical interests include, but are not limited to, stress and anxiety management, marginalized and intersecting identities, and relationship and attachment-related concerns.

I believe that therapy should be an engaging and enriching experience. Therapy is collaborative, it is a conversation, and it can even be enjoyable. I strive to do what I can to make you as comfortable as possible in session. You are the expert on you, and it’s my job to help you figure out what that means. In therapy we will deepen your understanding of yourself while helping you make positive changes that align with your values. We will try to chip away at the expectations attached to you by society to help you step into your authentic self.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor who has been working in the field since 2017. I have had the opportunity to work with clients one-on-one and in groups, and have been fortunate to work with a diverse range of people in a diverse range of settings. I work primarily from a Feminist Psychotherapeutic lens, incorporating Multiculturalism, Feminism, and Gender and Sexuality Affirming Care into my practice. I also incorporate some facets of CBT and Existentialist therapy in session when appropriate.

I strongly believe in the human capacity to improve our lives when given the proper resource and support. I take a holistic approach to counseling helping individuals and families explore their mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual goals in the context of their relationships, communities, and lived experiences.
I’ve worked for nine years in community-based and outpatient therapy settings with individuals of all ages including those navigating trauma, substance use, and serious mental health struggles. Over the past three years I’ve specialized in working with children and families. I believe participating in individual or family therapy is brave and I’m grateful to anyone who allows me to be a part of that journey for them. I always lead with empathy and non-judgment, striving to create a safe space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and feel empowered and capable of making positive shifts in your life and well-being.

Everyone deserves a space where they can be heard, respected, and listened to. I strive to promote an open, nonjudgmental, and collaborative space within the therapeutic relationship. I passionately view therapy as an approach to understand and empower you within your healing. As a queer therapist, I am curious, warm, and open to my clients, while sometimes giving the gentle push needed while healing.
My approach to therapy involves a social justice, person-centered, humanistic, and somatic approach. Alongside being a licensed professional counselor, I am a board-certified dance/movement therapist. I am also fully trained in EMDR, facilitating organic healing to those experiencing overwhelming triggers, trauma, or grief. Together, we will explore the relationship of the mind and the body to bring more awareness to the valued uniqueness that is you.
I have experience working within inpatient psychiatric hospitals, forensic prisons, and community mental health. These settings have radicalized my approach to therapy. We will explore social and cultural systems, and varying levels of oppression and privilege that we may experience every day. Most importantly, we will explore how mental health and preservation is impacted by these systems.
Outside of the therapeutic environment, you may find me crocheting, mountain biking, and knitting.

As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I specialize in working with couples, adolescents, and adults navigating life’s challenges, transitions, and interpersonal dynamics. I prioritize building a strong, trusting therapeutic relationship. I believe that creating a safe, supportive space—where clients can be vulnerable without judgment—is the foundation for meaningful work. I emphasize clients’ strengths, help shift perspectives to recognize successes, and encourage continued growth.
I approach therapy as a collaborative journey. Together, we will explore your goals, identify patterns that may be holding you back, and build on your strengths to create meaningful change. Whether you’re coping with anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, or major life transitions, we will develop specific, personal, and achievable goals that reflect your values and needs.
With a background in family systems, I bring a holistic perspective to my work—considering not only the individual, but the broader relational and environmental context. I help couples improve communication, rebuild trust, and resolve conflict, while also supporting adolescents and adults in developing emotional regulation skills, self-advocacy, and resilience.

People may seek out therapy for a variety of reasons, such as needing guidance to make a decision, or building tools to better communicate with people in their lives. At other times, people may seek therapy because they may be struggling with a big life decision, have possibly experienced a trauma they want to work through, need guidance or simply a safe space with a listening ear as they adjust to our ever-changing world.
I enjoy helping clients to discover their inner resilience and build on it to live their best lives possible. My philosophy for therapy is, “it can be hard work, but who says we can’t have fun?” I believe that therapy is a wonderful tool to which everyone should have access and can benefit, moreover, it is something I am passionate about.
I enjoy working with adolescents, emerging adults, and adults to help them strike a balance between daily life stressors, and finding a sense of enjoyment and fulfillment as they travel this journey called life. I also have experience working with individuals, families, and groups at various levels of care such as inpatient, outpatient, residential, specialized treatment; and am experienced in treating a variety of presenting issues such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD and adjustment disorders, identity exploration, challenges focusing, and co-occurring substance use disorders.
