It can be difficult to be the one others always turn to whether it’s at work, at home, or in crises. Becoming the helper in every aspect of your life can take over before you even realize it. Because of this, it can be even more difficult to recognize and accept when you need support too.
Outside of my clinical work I serve my community as a part-time EMT, which continually reminds me of the strength it takes to show up for others and the importance of having someone show up for you as well.
Whether you’re in a helping profession, a caregiving role, or simply the person everyone leans on, the burnout, stress, and anxiety that come with carrying so much responsibility can deeply impact your life. As helpers we often carry the weight of others’ struggles while also trying to carry (or ignore) our own. When being strong for others becomes our norm, asking for help can feel unfamiliar or even overwhelming, and I’m here to walk alongside you!
My approach is compassionate, down-to-earth, and collaborative. My first goal is to create an environment where you can begin prioritizing yourself, let your guard down, and put down the things that you’ve been carrying for everyone else.
