Chad Brinkley

There are times in our lives when all of us face difficulties. I believe everyone does their best to manage those problems. Even so, there are times when the problems we face overwhelm our resources to cope. Sometimes the strategies that worked before aren’t helping anymore. In other cases, the only strategies a person has may have their own unwanted costs. Sometimes, we are afraid to act because we are afraid change may be too difficult or it may make things worse. In cases like these, it can help to have someone who can be supportive, motivate us to make positive changes, or help us to build the skills we need to cope.

All of us need help sometimes, but it isn’t always easy to ask for or find. Seeking out help can sometimes be frightening, but it doesn’t have to be. I believe my job as a therapist is to listen to someone’s story without judgement and meet that person where they are. Working together, we can identify difficulties and work towards developing the skills needed to manage those difficulties in healthy ways.
