Eating Disorders Center of Excellence

The Eating Disorders Center of Excellence (EDCoE) strives to support clients in Eating Disorder recovery through therapy, assessment, and a commitment to fostering empowerment through psychoeducation and de-stigmatization. The EDCoE currently supports adults and adolescents navigating recovery from disordered eating and/or  a current or former diagnosis of Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge-Eating Disorder, and Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID). Clinicians, depending on their speciality, may provide individual or family therapy based on the client’s needs for support. Location of service (virtual, hybrid, or in person) is also clinician dependent.

Clinicians within the EDCoE work closely with weight-inclusive, HAES-aligned (Health at Every Size) registered dietitians, primary-care providers, and psychiatrists to establish a cohesive and comprehensive treatment team for each client. Clinicians also work closely with referring therapists to provide the best fit for clients as they may have recently transitioned from a higher level of care (inpatient, residential, IOP, PHP, etc.) Equilibria is focused on supporting clinicians with this interest and specialization by providing further education and practice opportunities to advance their clinical skills, with plans to expand specialization in the treatment of children in the future.

Starting therapy may feel uncertain or scary. My goal as a therapist is to make therapy approachable and welcoming. I find it important to cultivate a non-judgmental, supportive space to work together. All of our emotions are important and serve some type of function, and we can work together to gain an understanding of these emotions and responses.

I specialize in working with adults with various concerns including but not limited to: eating disorders and disordered eating patterns, substance use, anxiety, depression, ADHD, OCD, food related trauma and various life stressors. I also enjoy working with loved ones who are supporting someone in their life through a stressor or transition.

In my work with eating disorders specifically, I recognize that eating disorders can present in many different ways and can be complex, impacting many areas of life. Whether you are in recovery from an eating disorder or just beginning the exploration of potentially disordered eating patterns, I strive to meet you where you are and create a supportive environment.

Your story is important. My role as a therapist is to work alongside you to understand what you want to see in your story, and help you move forward in it, with increased fulfillment and hope. There may be times where you feel overwhelmed and overburdened, experience self-doubt, struggle with triggers, or are learning about yourself in recovery. Perhaps you’re having a hard time understanding the way that you’re feeling, or you want to create balance, build motivation, and gain confidence, especially when barriers get in the way of your goals. In our work together, I will help you through navigating these experiences.

I am a licensed psychologist in the state of Pennsylvania. I received my doctoral degree in clinical psychology from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2019. I believe that growth and change are natural parts of life. However, these can be overwhelming and challenging to face alone. I strive to create a safe and accepting space for clients to face these periods of life with support and encouragement. My aim as a therapist is to balance providing gentle challenging and nurturing support to help clients find healing and be their most authentic selves.

I have experience working in a variety of settings including inpatient and outpatient substance abuse facilities, military communities, and private practice. I have received training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Internal Family Systems (IFS) informed EMDR. I use these techniques as well as a variety of other therapeutic approaches such as family systems therapy, solution focused therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and mindfulness to best support my clients.
