Dr. Brumfield is extremely engaging and will share tips for helping your child to feel seen and joined in play. This offering is the next in our series of Child Therapy Center of Excellence FREE Community Trainings.

In this free virtual community training from the Child Therapy Center of Excellence at Equilibria Psychological and Consultation Services, our presenter, Dr. Kristy Brumfield will be sharing strategies and approaches related to her perspective on play, and how it can foster closer parent-child relationships.
This training will address the following questions:
- How do I play with my child if I’m not naturally inclined to playing with toys or imaginative play?
- What are the best play materials for joining? (Hint: Whatever your child is excited about!)
- What are the benefits of unstructured vs. structured play?
- How can I connect with my older child/tween if they no longer play with toys?
Presentation will include an interactive discussion and Q & A session.
About the presenter:
Dr. Kristy A. Brumfield is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor, a Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor, and a Nationally Certified Counselor. With over 20 years of experience providing counseling for children, adolescents and families, Dr. Brumfield brings a wealth of knowledge and experience. Dr. Brumfield is also a Professor at Xavier University of Louisiana where she teaches counseling and play therapy to Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Professional School Counseling students, and currently provides supervision and training for the Equilibria Child Therapy Center for Excellence.
