Katie Nowcid, PSY.D.
Katie Nowcid
I am a licensed clinical psychologist in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. I believe that therapy is a collaborative process between myself and the client. I believe that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are all connected and distress is often the result of a breakdown in one or more of these aspects. I work with my clients to learn more about this process and gain insight into their personal situation. I meet my clients where they are at and help them learn new ways to approach situations.
While I utilize mainly cognitive-behavioral techniques, I consider myself to have an eclectic approach to therapy, meaning that I use what best fits the client. Additional therapy approaches that I use include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), positive psychology, and mindfulness-based techniques.
I received my doctorate in clinical psychology at Widener University’s Institute of Graduate Clinical Psychology. I have past experience working in a variety of settings including outpatient, inpatient, and college counseling. I work with individuals across the lifespan who want to work on a number of issues including anxiety, depression, life transition, stress, relationship issues, and parenting issues.
