Diana Calmes, LPC

Diana Calmes

Hey! I’m Diana. I’m a licensed professional counselor, CBT and trauma therapist with 10 years of professional experience. I help people come closer to their inner truth and, through it, gain more clarity and stability inside. I work in a deep and insight-oriented way. In my work, I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), psychodynamic, and trauma-informed approaches. This means I can offer you practical, evidence-based tools to help manage immediate challenges, while also guiding you through a deeper exploration of the roots behind them.

Together, we’ll:
• Explore emotional and behavioral patterns
• Understand their purpose and origins
• Foster greater self-awareness to make new choices possible and discover new paths

The better you understand yourself, the more freedom you will have to choose new, more satisfying paths in life. Thus, deeper healing that goes beyond short-term relief will be possible.

Therapy isn’t about applying a specific technique to a person—it’s about meeting you where you are, and working together in a way that feels safe, supportive, and authentic. I bring a wide range of therapeutic tools to our work, but I always tailor the process to you, not the method.

More than anything, I believe that positive change in counseling or therapy becomes possible on the basis of an authentic, supportive, trustful therapeutic relationship. This is the foundation of our work together.

Relationships with yourself and others are the basis that reflects the quality of our lives. The better you know yourself, the easier it is for you to form healthy and fulfilling relationships. I will gladly support you on this journey of self-exploration. Thanks to my extensive CBT training, I’m especially effective in helping people with anxiety and OCD-related difficulties. I use evidence-based techniques to support your return to a life with more freedom and joy.

In my trauma work, I’ve helped survivors of war and torture reclaim safety and trust in themselves. I know that our neurobiology is wired to help us overcome trauma. Sometimes professional help is needed to support those natural healing mechanisms.
