Robin Reese
I believe that each person I work with has a capacity for growth and wellness. It’s natural to experience unhelpful patterns or symptoms when our lives are off balance, whether it’s depression, anxiety, fear or dissatisfaction. I like to view these symptoms as messages – or signals – for our attention. My goal is to help clients better relate to themselves and cultivate new strengths.
Informed by advances in neuroscience and research on healing, I help clients transform distressing patterns so they can live with more ease, balance, and meaning. My therapeutic approach draws on systems theory, attachment theory, depth psychology, parts work, emotion-focused and somatic therapy, and mindfulness practices. I also integrate creative and expressive modalities such as sand tray therapy, art, and journaling to facilitate deeper insights and exploration.
As a licensed professional counselor (LPC), I offer therapy for adults and adolescents, as well as group therapy and wellness workshops. I earned a Masters in Counseling from The George Washington University and have worked in both public school and private group practice settings with children, adolescents, and adults.
